Distinguished Seminar on the Strategic Management of Sudan–South Sudan Relations

Under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan, accompanied by members of the Embassy, and in the presence of a distinguished diplomatic community, as well as a gathering of intellectuals, researchers, technocrats, and future generations, a seminar entitled:

“Strategic Management of Sudan–South Sudan Relations”

was held at Al-Sharjah Hall – Small Conference Hall.

The seminar featured a number of substantive and insightful papers. It commenced with a presentation by Professor Francis Deng, followed by contributions from Dr. Abdelaziz Hussein and Dr. Abdelnasser Al-Jazouli. This was followed by remarks and commentary from His Excellency the Ambassador of South Sudan, before concluding with the seminar’s final statement, which outlined its key findings and recommendations.

Praise be to God, the seminar succeeded in strengthening relations and fostering intellectual and emotional bonds between the two peoples.

The Centre’s administration is pleased to dedicate the success of this seminar to the distinguished scholar Professor Francis Deng, who continues to teach us that the humility of scholars comes before knowledge.

We are also pleased to dedicate this achievement to the Prime Minister, in recognition of the successful policies pursued in the area of relations with South Sudan and the positive outcomes that we hope to witness on the ground, including the opening of border crossings and the expansion of trade.

These efforts represent an important foundation for building common ground and stronger relations between the two Sudanese states.
